Chicagoland Area - Updated & Expanded
Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 02:22PM Our digital maps of Chicago are very popular - users love both the downtown and metro maps. But Chicago is growing like mad, and our users need more than the original area. Sample comments . . .
"Can you make the map a little bigger", or "I need it to go just a teeny bit further", or my personal favorite, "Does the Chicago map have to stop at the Illinois border?"
Welcome to Chicagoland - our brand new Chicago digital map that is truly gargantuan!
This new map covers 140,346 square miles! That's an area 414 miles east-west x 339 miles north-south. In fact, though we call it a map of Chicago, it actually goes as far north as Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and as far east as the St. Joseph River in Michigan!
The map dimensions measure 44 x 36 in (112 x 91 cm), which of course can be enlarged even further because it's all vector format.
The map contains over 40 editable feature layers, all fully updated using high quality NAVTEQ data.
You must preview this map to appreciate it. The thumbnail simply cannot do it justice.
